Get Financially Fit Credit Building
Are you invisible to the credit system?
Mar 16, 2018
If you’re struggling to get hold of your credit file, you might be ‘invisible’ to the system, meaning the Credit Reference Agencies can’t find you. Time to fix it. Learn how in under two minutes – from the experts at LOQBOX.
Here are the steps you need to take if you can’t get a credit report from one or more Credit Reference Agency (CRA).
1. Contact the CRAs
They might be able to solve the problem for you right away.
2. Get your statutory credit report
Each CRA must provide this by law online, it used to cost £2 but is now free. It’s basic, but a good starting point.
3. Get on the electoral roll
It’s great way to make the system aware of you. Here’s how to do it.
4. Make your rent count.
If you’re renting, using a service like CreditLadder can help build your credit history by reporting your rent payments to Experian.
Now try again with ClearScore, Credit Club and MSM Credit Monitor. If it doesn’t work, wait two months and have another go. By then, your LOQBOX payments should be starting to improve your visibility (at most, it could take a few months).
Transparency is important to us, we choose our partners very carefully, and only present financial products we think will work for you. If you sign up to Clearscore or CreditLadder using the above link, then they will pay us commission for this. This income helps us to continue to improve our service for our users and keep LOQBOX free.
